Whitson CM has developed several education programs relating to environmental compliance. These programs were developed as a means to educate its customers with recent changes in NPDES permits in California. Approximately 1,000 individuals from over 100 companies have received professional certifications, State mandated stormwater certifications, and training certificates.
When the State of California adopted changes to its statewide NPDES permit for construction projects (Construction General Permit), Whitson CM took the lead in educating the construction community. We began with developing and hosting webinars with an environmental law firm to educate public works managers throughout the State. We followed this program with a series of presentations hosted by the Association of General Contractors to introduce the new regulations to the construction community.
Whitson CM is a State Trainer of Record for the new NPDES Construction General Permit. We are one of only a few companies that have been permitted to train potential Qualified SWPPP Developers (QSD) and Qualified SWPPP Practitioners (QSP). Our program is unique because we not only qualify individuals to take the State examination; we also perform the education and administer the testing for the prequalification components: Certified Inspector of Sediment and Erosion Control (CISEC).
